Let’s continue our journey inside Reda's production chain with a department that holds a crucial importance, much more than we commonly think. We are talking about the raw materials warehouse: come with us to discover which functions take place within it.

The warehouse is not simply used to store raw materials (i.e., wool), but also to carry out one step in the transformation of the material: cleaning.

In this step, the wool fibers are completely cleaned by a process called combing, which removes soil and other impurities of plant origin. Also removed is the grease naturally present in the wool, which is kept aside and later marketed, after purification, as lanolin. Lanolin is a substance in high demand in the cosmetics industry, and reselling it allows Reda to minimize waste and avoid treating as waste a by-product that can still be useful.

At this stage, the wool fibers are completely cleaned through combing, until a clean, combed wool is obtained and ready for the next steps: the raw materials warehouse marks the beginning of a process of craftsmanship and experience that takes Reda's yarns all the way to the end consumer.
