A story of craftsmanship.
A family story.

Since 1865, Reda has interpreted the Italian textile tradition through a vision that brings together manufacturing expertise, innovation, and respect for its territory.

A story deeply rooted in the Biella district, where wool craftsmanship has been a shared heritage and an essential part of the local identity for centuries.

Founded in Valle Mosso, in the heart of the Biella textile district, by Piedmontese entrepreneur Carlo Reda, the company became part of the Botto Poala family’s history in 1919. A family with a long-standing tradition of textile manufacturing.

Since then, generation after generation, the family has guided the mill with a forward-looking vision while remaining deeply rooted in its identity.

Today, CEO Ercole Botto Poala, together with Chairman Francesco Botto Poala and cousins Fabrizio and Guglielmo, continue this journey by combining manufacturing tradition, technological innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Today, Reda is internationally recognized as one of Italy’s leading manufacturers of fine Merino wool fabrics.

Made in Italy tradition

Reda’s connection to its territory is one of the most authentic expressions of its identity.

For more than 160 years, the company has produced Merino wool fabrics entirely Made in Italy, embodying the manufacturing tradition of the Biella district and the timeless elegance of Italian tailoring.

Premium raw materials, design research, and technical expertise come together in fabrics that reinterpret classic tailoring with a contemporary perspective and continuous innovation.

Every stage of the manufacturing process takes place at the company’s Crocemosso facility in Valdilana, where the textile tradition of the region meets cutting-edge technology.

From fiber selection to fabric production, every step follows a simple principle: creating materials that embody the finest expression of Italian excellence while meeting the evolving needs of customers.

The culture of wool has always belonged to this region and continues to live through the skilled hands of the artisans who contribute to the quality of every Reda fabric.

Above all, this heritage lives in people. Generations of technicians, craftsmen, and specialists preserve and pass on a unique textile expertise, refined over decades in the valleys of Biella. A know-how built on experience, precision, and attention to detail that remains one of Reda’s most distinctive strengths.

Under the leadership of the Botto Poala family, this legacy continues to evolve, transforming centuries of tradition into a contemporary vision of luxury.

Choosing a Reda fabric means choosing a material that embodies history, craftsmanship, and continuous research.

Values and expertise.

Quality, respect for people and the environment, and Italian manufacturing guide Reda’s daily work. The mill’s history is grounded in a family enterprise and in the culture of its territory, creating a body of knowledge that continues to develop over time.

Reda has progressively extended its international presence while maintaining its focus on fine Merino wool fabrics. Manufacturing expertise, technological research, and environmental responsibility contribute to this development, with the people behind the material remaining central to the company’s identity.
