The Art of Bespoke: Reda, Sartoria Mantegazza and Camiceria Siniscalchi

A piece of fabric laid out on the table, a chalk line, the sound of scissors following its path. These are the gestures from which a bespoke garment begins to take shape. Before the finished piece come hours of work, fittings, adjustments and details that, once worn, will remain hidden from view. Reda chose to tell the story of this process together with Sartoria Mantegazza and Camiceria Siniscalchi, two Milanese ateliers specialising in bespoke garments.

The project was created for Stile Sartoriale, the event organised by the Accademia dei Sartori that brings the work of the two ateliers to the runway in Rome. Through a communication project developed together with both partners, Reda turned this journey into a story told through images and video, closely following the people, gestures and techniques that bring a bespoke garment to life.

It all begins with a chalk line: Sartoria Mantegazza

This marks the beginning of a transformation in which the fabric gradually takes shape. Cutting, stitching, basting and construction then define the garment’s structure and fit. The tailor’s hands shape the shoulder, while fittings on the body allow the proportions to be adjusted. Every stage requires time and precision. The project captures these moments up close, showing hands at work, temporary stitches and all the details that, once the garment is finished, will remain hidden inside it.

The bespoke shirt as a second skin: Camiceria Siniscalchi

The journey continues with the making of the shirt. Every detail contributes to achieving the right fit: collar, cuffs and volumes are studied and progressively adjusted to adapt the garment to the person who will wear it. Through images of the making process and fittings, the project highlights the precision required to create a bespoke shirt, showing how even the smallest adjustments can make a difference in the relationship between garment and body.

From the atelier to the runway: Stile Sartoriale

The story concludes in Rome at Stile Sartoriale, the event organised by the Accademia dei Sartori. Here, the look created by Sartoria Mantegazza and Camiceria Siniscalchi using Reda fabrics is finally presented in its entirety. Everything previously shown through individual details comes together in the finished garments. The runway becomes the final chapter of a journey that brings Reda materials together with the expertise of the two ateliers. A project that goes beyond supplying the fabric to tell the story of bespoke craftsmanship from start to finish.
