Reda's commitment to the protection of the land and its resources is part of a relentless journey in the field of sustainability. This mission not only involves the conscious use of natural resources, but also an approach that sees technological innovation at the service of sustainable solutions with low environmental impact. Energy use and energy conservation are some of the key components of this commitment. Over the years, Reda has invested numerous resources in reducing the energy impact of its production processes through the purchase of state-of-the-art machinery, the efficient consumption of its plants and the use of energy from renewable sources.
Thanks to the heat recovery systems implemented in its thermal power plant, Reda has reduced its methane consumption by about 7 percent annually, thus cutting its emissions by more than 300 tons of CO2. Furthermore, in 2009, in order to further reduce its environmental impact, the company installed its first photovoltaic system for the production of electricity from renewable sources. This innovative system of about 200 kW is located on the company's roof and consists of about 900 panels.
In 2010 Reda installed an additional photovoltaic system of about 350 kW. Consisting of about 1,400 panels, the system saved more than 150 tons of CO2eq in one year.
For 2023, Reda is setting further ambitious goals, including:
· The continuation of the replacement of traditional lighting systems with LED technology;
· The installation of new energy-saving machinery in the compressor plant;
· The construction of a third photovoltaic system in the Crocemosso plant.
This ambitious project stems from the company's desire to produce the best Merino wool fabrics with the utmost respect for the environment, creating value for the territory and reducing its environmental impact as much as possible.
