Over the years, Reda's commitment to sustainability has evolved and strengthened more and more, to the point that this year the company is proud to publish its fourth Sustainability Report, a valuable document in which Reda's mission becomes tangible and is communicated clearly and transparently.
The Sustainability Report is a comprehensive and detailed document of Reda's activities, starting from its history and identity as a historic woolen mill that, as a leader in the textile industry, has the responsibility to promote change through sustainable innovation, environmental respect, and social progress. It narrates the sustainability governance model, responsible supply chain, and the relationship with farms and the production chain. The journey continues with a focus on the strong bond with its employees and the surrounding community, without neglecting the commitment to environmental protection, which has been a development driver since 2004, alongside quality and innovation.
Founded in 1865, the Reda Group is a leader in the production of sustainable fabrics in pure Merino wool. After becoming the first Italian textile company and among the first in the world to obtain B Corporation certification, the most advanced international standard measuring the economic, environmental, and social impacts of participating companies, Reda achieved another important milestone in 2021 by becoming a Benefit Company, thus modifying its statute. As a Benefit Company, the company commits to pursuing common benefit purposes and operating responsibly, sustainably, and transparently towards people, the territory, and stakeholders.
At Reda, all stages of the production process are monitored with careful and scrupulous control to offer quality fabric and ensure maximum transparency for the customer, providing full visibility of the processes and the origin of the fabric being worn.
The concept of sustainability is understood and implemented by Reda in its broadest sense, going beyond environmental preservation to embrace the sphere of protecting people, who are at the center of every process in the company. Lastly, there is a strong connection with the local territory and authorities. One thing that has not changed from 1865 to today is the deep connection with the territory, a vocation that for Reda stems from profound respect for territorial origins and a centuries-old artisanal tradition passed down from generation to generation.
Communicating its activities in the field of sustainability is an essential action for Reda, a necessary act towards its stakeholders to whom it wishes to guarantee full transparency. The sustainability report can be consulted on reda1865.com in the Sustainability section.
