From the sheep farms of the Southern Hemisphere to the textile districts of Biella, the Reda “From Sheep to Shop” internship continues its mission of shaping the next generation of wool ambassadors. Through a fully immersive experience across Reda’s vertically integrated supply chain, the program offers young talents the opportunity to explore every stage of wool production, from fibre to finished fabric.

For the 2026 edition, Reda welcomes three interns from different corners of the world: Theo Blatcher from South Africa, Ella Cook from New Zealand, and Charlotte Cuming from Australia. Each arrives with a unique background, but all share the same curiosity for craftsmanship, sustainability, and the future of wool.

    Meet Theo Blatcher

Freshly graduated in Fashion Design with distinction, Theo Blatcher brings a strong passion for textiles, tailoring, and the technical beauty of wool. Coming from South Africa, this internship also marks her very first experience abroad, something she describes as both surreal and deeply emotional.

Since arriving in Italy, Theo has immersed himself in the world of textile production, discovering firsthand the complexity behind every fabric. From dyeing and spinning to warping and weaving, every department has revealed a new layer of appreciation for the craftsmanship behind Reda’s production process.

What has impacted her most, however, is the human side of the mill: the people, the expertise, and the willingness to share knowledge. For Theo, the internship is not simply about learning how wool becomes fabric, but about understanding the network of individuals who make that transformation possible every day.

    Meet Ella Cook

With a background in Fashion Design and a Master’s in Design, Ella Cook approaches fashion through the lenses of storytelling, craftsmanship, and historical preservation. Her academic research explored traditional hand-stitching techniques within a contemporary context, making Reda’s philosophy feel like a natural extension of her own creative vision.

What immediately struck Ella about Reda was the company culture, particularly the value placed on people within an environment where innovation and automation coexist alongside artisanal expertise. During her first weeks inside the Croce Mosso mill, Ella experienced the scale and precision of textile manufacturing up close, while also gaining a broader understanding of wool as an interconnected system. What once felt like “just a material” has become, in her words, an entire ecosystem stretching from sheep genetics in New Zealand to the performance of the final fabric.

This perspective has also reshaped her understanding of sustainability, not as a label, but as an ongoing process of measurement, responsibility, and continuous improvement.

    Meet Charlotte Cuming

Raised in a wool-producing family in Australia, Charlotte Cuming developed an early connection with wool and the agricultural world surrounding it. Alongside her Bachelor of Business, she obtained her wool classing certification, combining technical expertise with a strong interest in the commercial side of the industry.
For Charlotte, the From Sheep to Shop internship represents the perfect intersection between agribusiness, creativity, and fashion. After completing Module 0 in Australia, she arrived in Italy eager to deepen her understanding of the textile industry from inside the mill itself.
Her experience at Croce Mosso has reinforced the importance of preparation, precision, and quality throughout the entire wool pipeline. As a wool classer, Charlotte understands how decisions made at farm level directly influence the reliability and quality of the final garment.

Among the many departments explored so far, the warping department has been a personal highlight, a place where technical expertise and craftsmanship visibly come together to transform yarn into fabric structure.
    A Journey Beyond Wool

More than an internship, “From Sheep to Shop” is an opportunity to experience wool as culture, innovation, craftsmanship, and community all at once. Over the coming months, Theo, Ella, and Charlotte will continue exploring every stage of Reda’s vertically integrated world, gaining hands-on knowledge while contributing their own perspectives and experiences along the way.

From South Africa to Australia, through New Zealand, and now to Biella: their journey is only just beginning.
