Ufuk Akkaya, a recent graduate from Istituto Marangoni born in 1993, was chosen to interpret the style and inspiration behind Reda’s Spring Summer 2022 collection. Born and raised in Istanbul, Akkaya moved to Milan in 2017 to attend a master's degree in Fashion Design Menswear and one in Luxury Accessories Design & Management at Istituto Marangoni: “I have always had a strong passion for fashion, art, photography and architecture. Working with a leading company such as Reda is a great opportunity for a young designer like myself.”
The project stems from the desire to tell the story of the collection and what inspired it, as seen through the eyes, style and creativity of a young talent; special attention was paid to the new digital technologies that truly embody the sustainable approach and make it even more concrete. For its first Digital Green collection, Reda teamed up with the designer to create 5 sketches to capture the 5 worlds inside which the Spring Summer 2022 collection came to life.
A further confirmation of the Reda Group’s commitment to sustainability, the collection was entirely created digitally, as were the sketches Ufuk Akkaya came up with for each of the 5 worlds: Smart Twist, Escape, Cosmopolitan, Indulgence and Café Society. “As a designer, I place great value on sustainability and I work with that degree of awareness throughout my design process, without any exception.”
