We continue our journey to discover Reda's production, to understand the many delicate processes contributing to the production of one of the world's best Merino wool.
Spinning and winding are a crucial step in the production process, as it is at this point that the wool is transformed into yarn. Nothing can be left to chance, not even the external conditions of the place: temperature and humidity play a key role for optimal spinning.
This is why Reda pays extreme attention to the air conditioning of this department, so that fundamental parameters such as temperature and humidity are kept under control at all times. Although it may seem of little importance, this detail makes all the difference for a truly refined yarn.
The resulting yarn, which is extremely compact, strong and elastic, is then subjected to a centimetre-by-centimetre quality control by means of an optical/capacitive system, ensuring optimum quality. Not even the smallest defect can escape our careful controls.
To ensure optimal working conditions for our personnel, we have implemented an automatic material unloading system, eliminating the need for workers to handle loads manually; all material is automatically transferred and tracked to the yarn warehouse.
Technological efficiency combined with highly qualified personnel guarantee us a daily production of 4,000 kg of yarn. Finally, sustainability is always at the heart of Reda's efforts. Thanks to the RSE sustainability protocol, we have managed to reduce the department's energy consumption by 50%.
