Reda’s commitment to sustainability – understood as the responsible management of environmental and social impacts – has for many years been a significant part of the way the company operates. After obtaining the B Corp mark, Reda has taken a further formal step by becoming a Benefit Corporation (Società Benefit) and amending its Articles of Association to include common benefit objectives alongside the pursuit of profit.
As a Benefit Corporation, Reda is committed to integrating into its business model a series of commitments concerning supply chain management, people, and the local community, taking responsibility for transparently reporting on the results achieved and areas for improvement. In particular, the company intends to:
- Develop a more responsible and traceable wool supply chain, working with partners who share verifiable ethical and environmental criteria, with the aim of protecting natural resources and promoting farming practices that enhance biodiversity and soil quality.
- Reduce the environmental impacts of its processes through the adoption of technologies that enable more efficient use of resources and rigorous control of the chemicals used, in compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
- Enhance the value of people within the company by ensuring safe working conditions, training pathways, and professional development opportunities, with attention to inclusion and well-being.
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and associations, contributing to initiatives that support culture, education, and the connection with the local area.
- Provide customers with transparent information on product traceability and impacts, making available verifiable data regarding the materials and processes used.
Being a Benefit Corporation means for Reda taking on an ongoing commitment over time: not only pursuing economic objectives, but also progressively improving environmental and social performance, and reporting on them in a clear and accessible manner.
