Since 1993 Reda acquires 30,000 sheep and three farms in New Zealand: Glenrock Station, Rugged Ridges and Otamatapaio Station. This marks the beginning of a road that will lead to exceptional quality fabrics made from Merino wool thanks to a meticulous selection process of raw materials and a scrupulous supervision of the entire production chain. 2000

Reda completes construction of its new production center in Crocemosso (in the Biella province of Italy), equipped with an innovative water purification system used to guarantee optimal work conditions for its employees.

Reda achieves official recognition of its environmental management system, obtaining the EMAS certification – an eco-management system that ensures full compliance with legislative standards and a continuous improvement of environmental performance. Download the certificate

Reda develops a health and safety management system for the workplace that involves the evaluation and management of all eventual safety risks. Download the certificate

2009

In 2009 an agreement was reached between Reda and the Merino New Zealand Company for the acquisition of raw materials exclusively from farms that possess the ZQ certification, also known as "Ethical Wool". This accreditation combines the natural performance of fiber with a program designed to ensure respect for the environment, economic development and social responsibility, combined with animal welfare. 2013

Reda obtains the Traceability and Fashion certificate that guarantees complete traceability of all of its fabrics in the production process from farm to finished product. Download the certificate

2018

An evaluation of the life cycle and Environmental Product Declaration is carried out to analyze the performance of Reda textiles and to guarantee the smallest possible environmental impact during the production process.

2019

Reda received the 4sustainability certification, which recognizes that companies operating in the fashion industry have subscribed to a sustainability roadmap. Being awarded and subsequently maintaining this label depends on the implementation of coherent measures and the observance of strict requirements under constant monitoring. The Chemical Management 4sustainability® protocol for the removal of toxic and harmful chemicals stems from the ZDHC methodology and aims at eradicating toxic chemicals that are harmful for human health and the environment throughout the entire production cycle: from the introduction of raw materials within the company to the different production stages, from the management of effluents to the introduction of goods on the market. 2020

Reda is the first textile manufacturer in Italy and one of the first worldwide to be awarded the B Corp certification, the most advanced global standard designed to measure the economic, environmental and social impact of companies. In 2020 Reda also receives the Global Recycled Standard certification and the Responsible Wool Standard certification. RWS releases an environmental declaration verified by a third party to ensure all wool comes from sustainable farms that must follow a number of specific requirements in terms of animal welfare and environmental impact. It also guarantees traceability along the entire value chain.

2022

Reda reaches another important milestone, by becoming a Benefit Company and therefore modifying its status. As a Benefit Corporation, Reda intends to pursue common benefit goals and operate in a responsible, sustainable and transparent manner towards people, the land, the environment and all stakeholders.
