Wool has thermal control, wool doesn’t itch, wool is breathable but wool is cool too! For the first time, Reda Rewoolution shows wool performances as you have never seen before. The footages were created by the marketing team together with Zone Creative and take the performance concept to another level, the funniest one. With the growing interest in wool, in natural performance and technological innovation Reda Rewoolution has decided to present these with a new appeal and.. a smile.
Reda Rewoolution comes from a combination of the Biella textile making tradition and the technological breakthrough known as Compact³, an innovative spinning system that is the true strength of every garment we make and which results in a product with 15% more resistance, 30% more elasticity and 20% more softness than traditional merino wool.
In addition, the exclusive “three point” stitching, the same normally used for wet suits but never before in the world of yarns, provides maximum stretch and excellent strength for high-performance technical garments. Reda Rewoolution’s mission is to exalt the natural properties of wool, which have been appreciated since ancient times, by applying innovative technological processes that make it a natural and high-performance alternative to synthetics that is also environment-friendly.
This means that a Reda Rewoolution garment:
IS NOT ITCHY:
A wool fibre has an exterior structure formed by a protein coating called keratin, arranged in overlapping scales. Depending on the fineness of the wool, these scales overlap more or less densely. The wool produced by merino sheep have a more linear structure, free of irregularities. In addition, the special Compact3 spinning system makes the fibres softer, smoother and more compact. The result is a garment that gives its wearer an extraordinary sense of comfort in direct contact with the skin. Soft, pleasant and absolutely not itchy.
HAS NOT ODOUR:
The waxy substance that covers the wool fibres repels liquids, which slide off it. This is a completely natural antibacterial and stain-resistant property. But while liquids are not absorbed, the fibres do retain water vapour (perspiration) and release it to the exterior. The result is a garment that is less prone to getting wet or dirty or sweaty than its synthetic counterparts, and thus doesn’t generate the all too familiar unpleasant odours associated with them.
PROTECTS WEARERS FROM UV RAYS:
Wool fibre is highly fire-resistant, second only to the synthetic and noxious asbestos fibre, and not only ignites with difficulty, producing little smoke and not melting, but, above all, generates very little heat. This “shielding” action provides optimal protection against UV rays, even under the summer sun, as well as a safety precaution against unpleasant accidents.
IS HIGHLY BREATHABLE:
Wool is the most hygroscopic material – that is, able to absorb water vapour – there is. Each thread can absorb up to a third of its weight without seeming at all wet, and of releasing the same vapour into the air. IN addition, thanks to the exclusive Compact3 spinning system, there are more fibres, which considerably increases breathability. In cases of intense perspiration or very humid conditions, a wool garment naturally facilitates transpiration by absorbing the droplets of vapour and transferring them to the exterior, without letting them come into contact with the skin, and thus preventing the unpleasant sensation of wetness and damp.
IS HEAT REGULATING:
Wool’s most important property is its ability to capture considerable quantities of air. This gives it greater heat retention than other fibres. It should be kept in mind that this property acts with regard to both cold and heat. Nature thus made it possible for sheep to resist both winter cold and summer heat, and man has always manifested a preference for wool, for this very reason, as illustrated by the Tuareg, desert nomads who wear only wool during the boiling hot Saharan days.
REQUIRES LITTLE CARE:
We have been used to thinking of wool as difficult to wash, that shrinks and felts up. Impossible to machine-wash, strictly wash by hand, with some care and special detergents. Reda Rewoolution garments are from another generation: you can machine wash them up to 40°C and they can be ironed easily, especially with a steam iron. In any case, the natural properties of dust and dirt repellence and breathability make it unnecessary for the garments to be cleaned frequently, which not only saves money but is easier on the environment, too.
